billing policy 

Lagoon Medical Centre is a mixed billing practice. Patients, please note if you are seen as a general practice patient you will be privately billed. Patients with a valid pension or healthcare card or under the age of 16 will continue to be bulk billed by most GPs for weekday services. Only patients seen in the Urgent Care Clinic will be completely bulk billed. If you would like further clarity, please call and speak with one of your reception team.

All adult patients will be privately billed on all weekend services. Children under 16 will be bulk billed for Saturday appointments only and privately billed for Sunday and Public Holidays.

It is now the practice policy that patients will incur a did not attend fee of $80 for any missed appointments or late notice of cancellation. We request that all unwanted appointments be cancelled with a minimum of 2 hours’ notice or the full fee will apply. This will ensure your unwanted appointment can be utilised by another patient in need and our service remains accessible to all patients. These charges will need to be paid before your next GP appointment.

The GP Practice accepts all new patients. All new patients including children and concession card holders will be privately billed for your initial consult. Payment will be required at the time of booking, to secure your appointment. If payment is not received 2 hours prior, your appointment will be cancelled. If you cancel any unwanted appointments with a minimum of 2 hours' notice you will be refunded your booking fee otherwise a did not attend fee will be charged and you will forfeit your booking fee. New patients seen in urgent care will continue to be bulk billed.
